Inspect Air Technologies | Testing Indoor Air Quality
An air test will detect biological pollutants, like mold, dander, pollen, dust mites, asbestos, and bacteria. Chemical pollutants, which include volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like formaldehyde, and other chemical pollutants such as lead and radon.
Mold spreads in as little as a few hours.
Under ideal conditions (optimal temperature and level of humidity), it takes 24 to 48 hours for mold to germinate and grow. Typically, mold spores begin to colonize in 3 to 12 days and become visible between 18-21 days.
When a mold spore lands on a moist organic material, it makes its new home in the porous surface and begins to feed off the organic substance. Within just a few hours, harmful microorganisms start spreading to adjacent moist areas, damaging the structural integrity of the material. Once mold gets a foothold on a surface in your home, it quickly fills the air with thousands of spores that spread throughout the structure, affecting more and more areas with every passing hour.
How does poor air quality affect our health?
Breathing poor quality air can be detrimental for our health. Long-term exposure to bad air quality has been associated with diseases of the heart and lungs, cancers, and other health problems (blocked or runny nose, skin rashes, sore throat, red and watery eyes, sinusitis, wheezing, dry cough). That’s why it’s essential for us to inspect and monitor know what is in the air we breathe. Even NASA uses satellites orbiting Earth to keep an eye on the air you breathe. In fact, air quality forecasters use information about aerosols from NASA’s Aqua, Terra and Suomi-NPP satellites. How is indoor air quality (IAQ) tested?
Inspect Air Technologies can help you determine your air quality in a home, offices building, and commercial properties. with our calibrated air testing equipment. The methods we use for testing indoor air quality can vary depending upon the substance of concern. The three most common types of indoor air quality concerns include radon, mold, and Volatile Organic Compounds. Most of us spend much of our time indoors. The air that we breathe in our homes, in schools and in offices can put us at risk for health problems.
